Coast Guard Capacity Labels - Current Regulation 33 CFR 183.25 - Powered Boats

Based on the USCG compliance inspector recommendation we meet the following design recommendations:

1. Character heights are in accordance with 33 CFR 183[c].
2. All dimensions are minimum.
3. Each line of print must be separated by at least 1/8".
4. The words in the line "XX Persons or XXX Pounds" must be at least 1/4" in height, but not larger than one-half the height of the persons capacity number.
5. All remaining words and numbers required to be within the yellow area must be at least 1/8" in height, but no larger than one-half the height of the persons capacity number.
6. All other words and numbers on the displays must be located outside the yellow area on a background color which contrasts with yellow.
7. The persons capacity in whole numbers must be black print.
8. Capacity label format examples for other type monohull boats <20ft are shown at 33 CFR 183.25(b), except sailboats, canoes, kayaks & inflatable boats, which do not require capacity labels.

No company logos are permitted on the capacity/certification label.

One of the most frequent certification statement violations is the use of lowercase letters in the company name and address that are less than 1/8”.  To avoid this non-compliance item, please use all uppercase characters
